"...The Navy Yard played host to this year's Dîner en Blanc, the exclusive pop-up picnic where thousands of white-clad participants gather at a secret spot, the location of which is revealed only a mere few minutes before the event takes place...The event's purpose is to celebrate dinner as an art form, but it’s also a way to celebrate the art of recreating public space and showing off how beautiful they can be..."

Touché Accessories avec DINER EN BLANC... The elegant Parisian pop-up picnic, Dîner en Blanc, hosted a preview party on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Williams-Sonoma at the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia. Guests sampled food from local market vendors and cocktails from Lillet. Touché Accessories sold fascinators and other great accessories and some attendees entered a contest for the best themed table decor. The “dinner in white,” is like a gustatory Brigadoon, equal parts mystery, anachronism and caprice! Now attended by thousands at some of the best-known Parisian spaces, it began humbly in 1988. That year, François Pasquier returned to Paris after a few years abroad and held a dinner party to reconnect with friends. So many wanted to come that he asked them to convene at the Bois de Boulogne and to dress in white, so they could find each other! Event chair Natanya DiBona (left) paused for a photo with Conni McDonnell, owner of Touché Accessories, and Lisa Silveri during the preview event. This year’s Parisian picnic will take place on Thursday, August 21...

It's a new era for the British Royal Family and I found no better time than today to shop for hats for my friend's bridal shower...We strolled through the King of Prussia Mall, "chitty chatting" (as Jess calls it), we both gasped simultaneously as we stumbled upon a Parisian window pane filled with the most glamorous hats and delicious accessories. It's no surprise that what started as a quick trip turned into an adventure.
Welcomed by a French accent, Touché's proprietor... offered immediate assistance. We carefully combed through the exquisite collection of hats. Like icing on the cake, Colette placed a fascinator on my head, positioning it as if it were a royal crown and I were the queen...
We tried one after the next, loving each and every one. I struggled to decide which fascinator to chose and finally told Colette I'd buy my top three and rotate
them throughout the day. Colette responded with the wittiest of answers, (knowing my profession of course), "You are a woman who wears many hats, I can't
think of a better idea!" A woman of many hats, hmmm, that's exactly what I am...(now why didn't I think of that?!)
I checked out of Touché with a smile and my hats individually wrapped in Tiffany blue tissue paper. I even found a pair of earrings, which Colette wrapped and
placed in a French baguette bag. I couldn't think of a better way with a better friend to spend my afternoon...
